Looking ahead so we don't have to look behind

I was just reading about some of my favorite causes having an effect in the world and then the next thing I read was a huge article about the gulf oil spill and how most of us are only hearing what the government and old companies want us to know while people, animals and plants in an ever widening area are becoming toxic and beginning to face damage at the least and extermination at the worst in the areas that are affected.
There is such a polarity in this world with so many extremes that could be avoided if we just looked ahead before we did the things that can bring us so much pain.
My causes are based upon people in the world not looking ahead. The wolves were almost exterminated because people decided they weren't necessary for the balance in nature. Well they were. When we have wolves in nature, only the old and the sick are usually killed for their food while when men took on killing the things that wolves used to do, the really gorgeous healthy bucks with the biggest rack of antlers gets killed instead for stuffed trophies no less. Not to mention the does who are often pregnant with next years babies.
This is just one example of not looking ahead out of millions that people around the world have done by not thinking about consequences and testing to see what might happen if they do something like damaging an underground oil reserve of huge magnitude without any real idea of how to cap it once they do it.
Why are we not demanding that these type's of things be really completely researched before oil companies are allowed to even drill in the first place? Why do we not have the best minds in the world from all areas of expertise working around the clock right now to actually fix the problem in a solid and safe way before more people, plants and animals become irrevocably ill or die from it? Why are we sitting back and allowing the government to let the oil companies who didn't research anything and had incredibly insufficient safeguards and no real back up plans in case of error to continue to allow this disaster to grow and spread?
Causes feel great when they succeed, I love it when I hear that the wild horses have had a victory against the vicious stupidity of the government (BLM) officials, but if we actually looked ahead and took the time to see that the wild horses are a huge part of our world and deserve to live free and equal with everything else in the world we wouldn't need our causes. We would have bypassed them with mindfulness and consciousness in looking at our whole world as a complete biosphere where everything is needed to make it work right. That includes us. We are the ones who are causing the imbalances that are happening on our own world. The only world we have.

Detachment - One of the Big Questions

Detachment has always seemed like a cop-out to me. How can you be detached from what is happening right in front of you? It has taken me years and a lot of living to finally feel comfortable with this concept in my own life.
I was recently reminded of this on the Gaia network when a question came up after a girl was raped in broad daylight by a main road with drivers going by and no one stopped.
Now detachment as I have come to understand it from a shamanistic background is that you don't let your ego dictate doing something to get something for it. You remove or quiet that part of you so that you can listen to the softer voice of spirit or soul. When you feel authentically that you should or shouldn't do something you act on that without guilt or the knowlege that you will get patted on the back for doing it.
Many times when talking to people who obstain from getting involved in politics because it is all dirty, or in acting to save another when something happens in front of you, because they must have come in to experience this or it would not have happened to them. I have become frustrated because this is not how I see the world at all.
For myself, I agree that we come into this world to experience and grow. But the crucial difference which I have been slowly maturing inside myself is that you don't know what another being has come in to experience. They don't even know at this level. They could have come in to experience being attacked or raped or just as easily they could have come in to experience someone stepping up and saying no, you cannot harm this being and so experience being valued enough to be saved from being harmed.
There are always at least two ways that any decision or situation can go in life.
From looking at this through my own lens of an extremely abused child during the first 18 years of my life, I see that as a very small child I was not able to physically make the person who abused me stop. If it was going to happen it would have had to come from someone else. No one, not my mother, not my teachers, not the police who worked with my father and knew what was going on by seeing me with broken bones and bruises all my life, not even the people who continually treated me in the doctors office or the hospital where I grew up ever did that for me.
It wasn't because they were detached. It was because they didn't want to rock the boat and the man of the house basically could still do what he wanted to at that time.
With that being said, it only took one man to stand up to my father when he saw me run into his house for shelter after my father tried to kill me to stop it all and all he did was walk up to my father and tell him in front of witnesses that if he ever touched me again in anger he would press charges and put him in jail.
My father stopped hitting me from that day forward and I have never forgotten the man who stepped forward to do this.
So my position on detachment is this. Listen to your own souls voice; the gut feeling that you should or should not do something. If you feel like doing something because it is going to make you a hero in front of someone you want to impress, your listening to ego instead. If you just feel it and know it is right. Do it in the moment. It does not have to be a big thing like getting out of your car and tackeling a person who is doing a crime, it could be stopping your car on the road and laying your hand on the horn until the others driving by stop or also honk to get any cops attention.
Remember both of you you and the person being harmed in some way have come to learn here not just them. Perhaps your own growth depends upon being able to step outside your ego for once and participate to make the world a better place for another....

Why Is Money The Flow Of Life In All Societies And How Can We Change That?

Societies in general have always used some sort of monetary system. Some way of accounting for goods and services. This is one of the major enablers of different layers or have and have nots in all societies in the world.
This is one of the things that allows someone to eat and go to plays or pay for a huge concert ticket while others can't afford to eat or find a place to live except perhaps a box that has been thrown away.
This is one of the biggest reasons that governments fight each other for power and money for the goods to survive in the world.
Somehow along the way, we have all been duped with the idea that this is normal and the way to do things and yet all of us in our own way fight against this idea of being one of the have nots.
Why do we need a monetary system at all? I know this is a radical idea, but only because we have been taught by history and our own governments propaganda that money is a necessary thing.
If someone says that horrible word socialism or socialist, everyone around you automatically recoils. What a horrible thing socialism. Does that mean your a communist? Oh my God a Communist!
But if you look at communism; communism was not socialist. Comunism built it's own power government that had a lot while the people had nothing. That is not a real socialism and I am not talking about socialism per se.
Instead I am talking about a more radical form of stepping up to our own consciousness and ability to make our own decision about how to live and help ourselves and each other in the world instead of giving all our power over to a corrupt government.
I'm talking here about all governments here, not just one.

Why, if we can get together and create together and live together, can we not simply support all and all (In their own unique way) give what they are/love/create in the world to each other freely so that all have enough? I'm talking about dropping the insurance people, the Lawyers, all of the things that separate us or are intermediaries between us and let us simply all give so everyone has enough.

I am talking about the people having free schooling up through whatever field they truly want to work in and then let them create and bring new ways of being into their creations. I'm talking about everyone contributing, but if there are jobs that no-one truly want to do, then everyone helps do those jobs so no one is singled out to do something they hate for the good of all.

If someone needs a rare medical treatment to make them whole and able to function in the world, the doctor who can do that operation does the operation, the home visit as opposed to hospital stays, the real community as it could be.
There are an unlimited amount of ways this could happen i.e., community places to eat with chefs who love what they do and people willing to support that and go there free to eat.
With our home grown and organically farmed foods donated to that end so everyone can eat great wonderful foods of all kinds, perhaps with the chefs deciding they like to cook a certain type of food getting together at one place and another group who like to cook something else doing it in anohter place, but all people going to eat somewhere together.
Perhaps with Actors and musicians having a great hall and scheduling when they want to perform for free for all.
They could even combine it with the resturants so that people could see live art of some kind almost every night. Not just big name players charging for performances as it is now.

There are so many ways to actually support honor and love what we can do together. I don't think that any currency will ultimately work in an equally supportive way of life.

If we are truly looking at letting go of our current society (which by the way I endorse whole heartedly)then I don't think we should bring along one of its most destructive pieces into a new way of being.

New Years Eve 2009

New Years Eve 2009 We must make our changes in the now, not the future!

I just watched a beautiful Utube video called Predictions for 2010 from Beyond. This video says that during this next year we will find out everything we've wanted to know, we will cure many diseases we cannot now, we will essentially become the co-creators that we have longed for and waited for in the world.
What it didn't say was that none of that is going to happen unless we actually step into first making the changes within our own selves to allow those changes to manifest.
I have looked at so many sites where everything is light and love and no one is actually taking the responsibility of doing any real change within. How are we going to really connect and become unconditionally loving and supportive of each other, to empathize and really listen and honor each other and all other beings in this world if we just wait for it to manifest without doing anything to actually accomplish it?
We have massive pollution in the world in the air, water and the ground we walk on. We eat it through pesticides, we kill the nutrients in the foods we grow by not putting anything healthy back into the ground before we plant new crops, we are killing so many fish in the oceans that in many areas there are few left.
We often think that we know how things should be in this world and that everyone else is wrong and that is one of the major things that leads to wars, along with deciding that your religion is the only way, and that it's ok to take from someone else if they have something that you want.
There is so much fear in this world at this time. Governments are afraid and so stock up on things that can ultimately kill everything in our world with the push of a button, It is terrifying to even think about the magnitude of all of this and yet, if (we) as individuals don't begin to make the changes inside us NOW, then none of us will be around to see them happen magically later.
How can you and I in our real lives, at this moment, make a tiny change in how we want to live and be in our lives?
Could we decide to say what we truly feel & mean in the moment without being hurtful to another person? Could we actually stop our own list of why we are right and listen to someone else tell us what they truly feel without filtering it as wrong unless they agree wholeheartedly with us? Could we be honoring to all others as the evolving wonderful beings who are trying their hardest in this world at this moment? Can we look at other lifeforms we share this world with without the concept (and that's all it is) that we are superior to them? After all, we are the ones who have messed it up so far, not them.
Those tiny changes of looking at each other as inherently good and worth listening to and paying attention to could help to herald in the bigger changes that are even more terrifying and that will not happen if we can't take those tiny steps first.
I know that at this point you are probably saying yes but. The but can be anything. Trauma from growing up, from wars, from lack of respect from others. The list goes on and on, but if we cannot take these first steps and show that it can be done, will anyone else?
I am am not a person who has had a charmed perfect life. My father abused me in every way as I grew up. I had PTSD from the time I was five years old. I've had five major head injuries in my lifetime, a major car accident, had my trust broken in so many ways that it took me years to work through these issues which have recurred in various ways in my life as I grew and evolved to the point that they don't occur to me any longer.
So, I say again, can we actually begin to step into our greater selves with the tiny baby steps now, in this moment so that we can co-manifest a world where everyone is helped and loved for themselves, everyone has enough food and a harmonious place to live, everyone is honored and respected simply because they are themselves and unique to the world at large. Can we all let go of the money issue and find a way to take care of everyone so we all have what we need in this life?
I have seen the evolution of groups and websites like this one, which is a hopeful sign, but we still need to actually do the work to get there and not just hope and talk about it coming.
A couple of the words I love in this world are Aloha and Namaste. Essentially they are the same. I see the God/Goddess dwelling within you that is within me. Can we make that change?
